Make a New Normal

Luke 1:39-55

  • In Mary’s visit with her cousin Elizabeth, we see the thing we are anticipating in the incarnation: a love revolution for all people.

  • Wrestling a sermon for Sunday about the visit with Elizabeth and Magnificat point to a political truth about Mary’s place in the story.

  • The Magnificat is offering of joy for the transforming power of God that will come into the world, to change it, for the good.

  • We often describe Mary as humble. But the kind of humility we see in Scripture challenges the meek and mild image.
