Andrew

  • The most obvious thing about the gospel this week is not its loudest parts. It is that Andrew and Philip are doing the work of Jesus.

  • In the baptism of Jesus and the calling of Andrew as a disciples, we get a different view of active participation.

  • I don’t think Andrew is doing anything crazy or difficult. It isn’t weird or selfish. He’s telling his brother something.

  • There’s a part in every story when the hero is invited to do something ridiculous. Something beyond his comprehension or her ability to see.
