Make a New Normal

I haven’t gone back yet

The Sabbath is over, but I haven’t gone back.

While I was on vacation, I chose to take a social media sabbath. I vacated all the places work resides for me, which includes social media and email.

While I’m back from vacation, I’m not back to social media.

I’ve checked on things people have told me about. I logged onto Twitter so that Elon Musk doesn’t give away my handle. But I still haven’t seen Threads or looked for the amateurish X logo. I’m also guessing I haven’t gotten into Bluesky.

Three observations:

  1. I don’t really miss it.
  2. I really had no clue how much social media was the go-to on my phone.
  3. Other people spent a lot of time on their phones when I wasn’t on mine.

At this point, unless they really fix social media, I don’t feel like I’m missing anything.
