John 2:1-11

  • It is the servants who witness the miracle, not the guests. The ones who are invited to do the work, to participate in sharing God’s grace.

  • In preparing to preach on the wedding at Cana story, we have several options, but always present is Jesus’s economics.

  • In the wedding feast at Cana, we see Jesus’s first miracle; but it is a curious one. It sets a tone for what kind of miracle-worker he is.

  • The Good Wine

    When Jesus keeps the wine flowing at the wedding party, we get a chance to adjust our expectations in a surprising way.

  • Jesus’s miracle of turning water into wine is famous. But it isn’t the only thing that matters about this story.
