Make a New Normal

Faith

The search for meaning, purpose, and relationship. Our need for love compels us to seek it out, and when we find it, share it.

  • Not Tempted

We read something into the Temptation in the Desert. That Jesus is being tempted by the devil. I don’t think it fits.

  • Ash Wednesday challenges us to see the depth of our delusions of grandeur: our enslavement to our own egos.

  • Planning ahead is hard when we’re asking one another to live in the moment. And even harder during a pandemic.

  • After the Transfiguration, Jesus has what appears to be an outburst of frustration. But is it? Maybe they are more revealing than that.

  • Our appearance is invested with expectation and is fraught with mistakes and stereotypes. In other words: there is power there.

  • Weird Love

In the Sermon on the Plain, Jesus challenges us to see love, not as something to be received, but as something to give.
