Make a New Normal

  • The phrase “don’t feed the trolls” has been around as long as many of us have used the internet. It needs an update.

  • We love accuracy. But we’ll throw it in the trash when given the chance to emphasize something we think is important.

  • When we hear Jesus’s apocalyptic talk, we often shut down. Which means we avoid hearing the good news itself.

  • When people speak in absolutes, they are defining the terms in the most extreme way possible. Rarely is it true.

  • It seems obvious. There are names on the ballot. We tap the screen or punch the card to elect a specific person to office.

  • In Temple destruction and community division, Jesus paints a frightening picture with the reminder to not fear it.
