Busy is a reflection of two natures at war.
One nature is the desire to do everything that is possible. To win at life. Be responsible for all of the things.
The other is to be healthy, joyful, and live in the moment.
When we’re stuck in the cave of busy, we think the freedom outside of the cave is unvirtuous. Because it leads to things like play, laughter, and relaxation. We label all of that as lazy.
When we are outside of that cave, however, we feel most alive.
We don’t have to treat busy like a virtue—and relaxation as a vice. But we often choose to. Which means we can also choose not to.
