Make a New Normal

So This is Where We Are

So This is Where We Are

So This is Where We Are

SO THIS IS WHERE WE ARE

Teenage survivors speak out.

The media follows the story.

Some grown-ups pass pictures of
the teens with targets on their chests.

An adult talk show host teases a teen
for not getting into all the schools.

Calls come for advertisers to pull ads from her show.

Some don’t.

One of those advertisers is a pillow company.

Some people buy new pillows to support them.

So this is where we are.

People buying pillows to support a company
supporting a grown-up who teased a teenager
because of his calls for sensible gun reform.

This is Team Gun.
Not to be confused with the vast majority of
Americans who either don’t own guns or
respect the need for proper legislation
and enforcement. These are the 3%.
The 3% who want guns everywhere and
schools to be a new Wild West.
Who would rather sacrifice our children on
the altar of tribe-enforced individualism.

And the way they do that is to buy pillows.
Or advertise the sale of pillows.
Or stand behind a grown up going after a kid.
Or draw a target on a child.
Or pass along that image of the target on
the child to their friends on Facebook.

I’m not sure how any of this protects the
myth of the responsible gun owner. But
I do know who is being responsible.
