It’s Like Dinner.
The 2016 presidential election reminds me of dinner.
Namely the conversation around dinner.
Like coming home and saying
“What should we do for dinner?”
And your spouse says:
“Not spaghetti. #neverspaghetti”
And you say
“OK. We won’t do spaghetti. I’m hoping to hear what you actually want.”
And they say
“I’m really good at making dinner. I can make all kinds of dinner.”
And, depending on your spouse they either say
“I’m the most qualified at making dinner.”
Or
“Trust me. My dinners are the best you’ve ever had.”
And you’re standing there after more than a year of campaigning and two weeks of conventions still asking
“Yeah, but what should we have for dinner?”
