In contrast to the jester, the trickster is someone who transgresses against a system they are part of in a way that genuinely jars the system itself. The trickster is a revolutionary figure who is able to expose the reactionary moral, political and cultural thinking that closes an ideology in upon itself and crack it open to real self-interrogation and transfromation.
I certainly know that I’m the fool. But do I risk, have already risked, that my heart, in its deepest yearns to be the other?
Do I dare? Or is too late? For perhaps I misjudge myself and have already chosen the harder path.
