I began this project a couple of weeks ago to collect some people’s favorite children’s books and talk about some of the ways these stories affect us. Check out the first post for more info!
Now I’m going to highlight some of the titles that were recommended during that time.
Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch by Eileen Spinelli
and
I Love You, Stinky Face by Lisa McCourt
“Somebody Loves You Mr. Hatch is a story of a man who feels unloved then changes his ways. He realize when he acted lovingly he received love. I Love You Stinkyface expresses the need and hope to love, accept, and be with our children no matter what.”
From Tom (my Dad):
Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman
My daughter loves this one and it is in the heavy rotation. He highlighted one of the most memorable lines, which is also pretty funny: “You are not my mother. You are a snort!”
Any other favorite children’s stories out there? Keep them coming and I’ll include them in new posts.
Tomorrow I’ll debut a new series that I hope will get you thinking about stories in a different way. Check back Wednesday to find out what it is!
