Two gut responses:
- The “Bible” app, YouVersion doesn’t actually know that Lent begins today, not Easter? Who doesn’t get that Lent isn’t Easter?
- The Advent/Christmas problem is invading Lent! The world mischaracterizes Advent as the Christmas Season–does that mean we are going to do the same to Lent?
In a few years, will people be giving up chocolate and going to Fish Fries for the Easter Season to prepare for Easter?
I think this is the real problem of our post-Chrstendom context.
